I know that things are not at all easy when you go abroad without a good roaming data plan. I am perfectly aware of the fact that you want to save money, but how would you use Android Maps when there’s no connectivity? After all, when you are away from your city, such apps are essential, but don’t worry as there is a solution for you as well.

That’s where offline maps come and rescue the day. Having offline maps is akin to being online, excepting a few limitations, of course. Most Android offline maps are made in such a way that you can download or cache a city, a place of interest or even an entire part of the map to your Android device. This makes it available even when you are not connected to the network, but note that in order to download the data, you’ll need to be online.

City Maps 2 Go is an example of such an app which gives you precious map directions offline. Let me tell you from the start that you must only turn on your GPS and see your location. The GPS will automatically detect your location and you can reach your destination with the directions given by the offline maps.

You should know from the start the fact that you won’t get as many building outlines or street numbers and you can’t zoom in as far as you can with some of the other offerings, but those who need more of a general reference map will find this app as being simply perfect.

And the story gets even better as long as the app detailed reviews and inspiring stories of all the places you visit (if any) so that the users can know the place in a better way; and you can even search for a place, save the directions, book a hotel and more. So, it’s not too much saying that you get the services of a travel assistant that allows planning your trips to foreign countries and cities upfront.

So, what do you say? Do you also want to turn your Android device into a digital guide leading you through your choices of restaurants and hotels? Do you want recommendations and reviews of other travelers and tourists? Are you worried about the fact that you might not always be able to find the direction to the next place that you want to visit? Being offline is no longer a problem as long as this app takes care of everything.

Take City Maps 2Go from here.
