Replicate Google Pixel 3 Flip to Shhh Functionality on your S9 Plus

Have you heard of Google Pixel 3’s Flip to Shhh feature? Back at I/O 2018, Google showed off a new feature alongside Android Pie called “Shush.” In practice, the feature would enable Do Not Disturb (DND) as soon as a handset was placed face down on a surface and that is precisely what we are getting on Pixel 3 and 3 XL handset models.

Instead of manually turning on the Do Not Disturb mode when you need to not be distracted by your phone, the act of just turning over your smartphone, face down, will automatically make sure you don’t receive any calls, texts, or notifications when you’re in are studying, reading, enjoying your family dinner or making a presentation and the examples may continue.

Well, if you wanted “Flip to Shhh” on your Android device, the creator of the popular Tasker app has created a task that replicates the exclusive functionality on your S9 Plus too. Nothing stays exclusive to a specific device for long, especially not when we are talking about such an interesting feature, so what are you waiting for?

Replicate Google Pixel 3 Flip to Shhh Functionality on your S9 Plus:

  1. At first, download Tasker into your Galaxy S9 Plus smartphone;
  2. Install it;
  3. Access this link on your Samsung device with Tasker installed;
  4. Tap on Import;
  5. Allow these permissions:
  • Notification Access – this is a must for putting your Galaxy in Do Not Disturb mode when you flip it over;
  • Device Admin – this makes sure to put the phone to sleep when you put it on a surface.

Now, you can also flip your S9 Plus upside down and the phone goes Silent instantly! How cool is that?

Besides that, remember that Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have more tricks up their sleeves, like Night Sight and camera improvements that I am sure you’d be eager to try out too. I know that developers on XDA Forums will also offer full custom ROMs for the first and second generation of Pixel devices with features from the Pixel 3 and 3 XL and will bring some of these features to all Android devices, so stay tuned for more.
