Acer Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 Android Smartphones to be Released in April

Acer has just revealed two new Android smartphones ready to join the already existing Liquid series in April: Acer Liquid E3 and Acer Liquid Z4. No one had seen this announcement as coming so soon, especially given the next week’s Mobile World Congress, but it is obviously that this is exactly what the company had in mind in the first place. With so many temptations around the corner, there’s no better timing to focus our attention towards two budget Android handsets like these ones. They might never have any chance later, but now maybe a modestly priced and decent device is just what you need, so don’t hesitate to find out more:

Acer Liquid E3

This handset that we have here comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display having a maximum resolution of 720×1280 pixels, while the power comes from 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage; we know what you must be thinking now, but the expansion support up to 32GB via microSD card definitely solves this problem.

Acer Liquid E3 is also equipped with both a 13-megapixel shooter with LED flash and a secondary 2-megapixel one, but unfortunately there is no word yet on its battery capacity and talk time. We can only add that this handset is supposed to feature Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but the company has already made an official statement regarding an Android 4.4 KitKat update to come later this year.

Acer Liquid Z4

The other device that has been just announced by the company is Acer Liquid Z4 that comes with a 4-inch display with unknown resolution, as well as with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. And although we know for sure that it includes a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, there is no mention off any front-facing camera, so there are big chances not to receive one at all.

As for those wondering about Acer’s Liquid Z4 OS, we can tell you that the smartphone will also run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, but the company has not mentioned any update plans for Liquid Z4 yet. So, if you are thinking about buying it, be sure that you are ready to completely give up on any chance of ever seeing KitKat!

Price and Availability

Both these Acer Liquid devices are nothing else than mid-range ones, so their price tag shouldn’t be at all scary. Acer Liquid E3 will be released in April for 199 euros, while Liquid Z4 for no more than 99 euros, but be careful. As our source confirms, we are only talking about an European release for the moment!
