Motorola DROID ULTRA and MAXX Release Date Set For August 8

As you probably noticed, Motorola hasn’t released anything this year. But that is about to change, as the Moto X, the Droid Ultra and Maxx for Verizon are about to launch on the 8th of August. The DROID ULTRA has already leaked last week, and now we have photos of the entire line-up (the DROID Mini, DROID ULTRA, and DROID MAXX). Verizon is preparing the commercials for the new devices and they look really good. The DROID MAXX is said to have a huge battery that lasts up to 48 hours, because the Motorola company believes that it matters.
The Droid MAXX and the Droid Ultra were spotted last week and from the rumors we understand that they both run the latest version of Android Jelly Bean. This new family of headphones (including the DROID Mini) looks like a remake of last year’s DROID line that featured the RAZR HD and RAZR M. The ULTRA and MAXX are rumored to have 5-inch 1080p displays and 10MP cameras. Other than that, we know nothing yet about the specs but hope to find out more about the whole line soon, as we just can’t help ourselves. And, according to our source, the devices will be officially released on the 8th of August.

As you can see from the photo above, the DROID ULTRA and DROID MAXX are identical, and the DROID Mini seems to be a smaller and cheaper DROID Ultra. The release of the DROID Mini might be just for competing against the wave of mini smartphones launched by almost every mobile company in the past years. As for the price tag, no information has been leaked yet, but we’d probably have to wait just another month, until the 8 August event.

Which smartphone would you prefer? Is it the DROID MAXX, thanks for its (hopefully) bigger than 4000 mAh battery, or the DROID Mini for its smaller price?
