MWC 2014: Huawei’s Ascend G6 Specs and Availability Details
Huawei has revealed three new devices at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona: the MediaPad M1 and MediaPad X1 tablets, as well as a smartphone dubbed as Ascend G6. We have just seen the first two devices, so now it’s the perfect time to take a closer look to Huawei’s Ascend G6 specs and availability details. Anyway, we think that it is more than enough to take a single look to this photo and you’ll immediately understand that we are talking about a handset dedicated to the high-end market, so things get even more interesting.
Technical Specs for the High-end Market
Huawei’s Ascend G6 comes with a 4.5-inch qHD display which offers 245ppi pixel density, having a resolution of 960×540 pixels and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset for the moment). The company has also mentioned that its Ascend G6 device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera that comes along with a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera, while its massive 2000mAh battery looks more than promising.

Although these specs that we have presented you up to now might not fully convince you that we are talking about a high-end handset, we want to tell you that this Huawei Ascend G6 is expected in both 3G and 4G options, so a 4G version which supports internet speed up to 150 Mbps cannot be anything else than high-end. And we can also tell you that the handset will feature the Emotion UI on top of Android, but we are not sure of which version we are talking about, although previous rumors have pointed to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS only.
Slim Profile and Various Color Options
From what Huawei has shared with us, we can also tell you that Ascend G6 sports a 7.85mm slim profile and has a total weight of no more than 115grams, not to mention that it comes in a variety of color options: the 4G model will be released in black with gunmetal grey or rose gold highlights, as well as in white with pink or champagne gold, while the Ascend G6 3G version will become available in white, black, blue, pink, or gold.
