Samsung Galaxy S5 4G Plus Ready to Launch in Europe
Samsung has recently announced a new version of its famous flagship handset, the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G Plus. Galaxy S5 is designed to offer a 4G / LTE data speed, considerably faster compared to the standard model.
Related to the hardware part, the Galaxy S5 4G+ brings the same 5.1-inch 1080p display, the same resolution, 2GB RAM memory, as well as a 2,800mAh battery and internal storage starting at 16GB (expandable via micro SD). Round the back, there’s a 16MP camera with 4K video recording.
The only difference between the standard S5 and the S5 4G+ is that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 has been replaced with the Snapdragon 805 chip. The new processor is meant to allow users a faster peak data speeds experience of up to 225 Mbps.
The new speed is notably higher than the earlier 150 Mbps for the standard Galaxy S5. The Snapdragon chip has also added the benefit of packing a more powerful Adreno 420 GPU.
Besides the Galaxy S5 4G+, both Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4 are also capable of these fast data speeds. The South Korean manufacturer appears to be bringing its S5 model in-line with the rest of its high-end products and smart devices. The Galaxy S5 4G Plus should not be confused with the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, which was recently launched in South Korea. This last device features an impressive display resolution of 2560 x 1440.
At this point, Samsung Galaxy S5 4G Plus has already been launched in Singapore and now, the device seems to be heading to Europe. The device will retail for an amount of €599, which is a bit more expensive than the standard Galaxy S5, and it will come from late October in black, blue, gold and white options.
However, the manufacturer has not announced whether the latest Galaxy S5 variant with 4G speed will arrive in other markets or not. In the same time, there is no official statement about the list of countries that should expect the device in the near future.
