Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Release Date Rumored

Android 4.3 has just been released, but many are waiting for the 5.0 Key Lime Pie. An Australian tech blog was the first to discover clues of the existence of the new operating system, in the Chromium Bug Tracker, which indicates that the Key Lime Pie is currently being tested for Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. The name of the upcoming OS was rumored since November 2012 and many believed that it would be released before Android 4.3. Android is known for having its build numbers start with the same letter as the first letter of the Android version name (Key Lime Pie appears as KRS36B in the Chromium Bug Tracker).

The OS is rumored to launch in October, alongside a smartphone that might be called Nexus 5. Rumors also say something about an upcoming Nexus 10 tablet from Samsung, also said to come with Android 5.0, as our source states. It is said that the Key Lime Pie will feature a Linux 3.8 kernel, which will help with faster and more stable multi-tasking, RAM usage and battery drain. No surprise here, as we all expect the Android 5.0 to come with improvements from the previous operating systems. Additionally, it is rumored to feature Project RoadRunner, which will increase your battery life substantially.
