Disable App is using battery Notification in Android 8.1 Oreo
One of Android 8.0’s main goal was battery improvements and no one was surprised by that. After all, we are always looking for new ways to fix Android battery drain issues and extend battery life. Battery drain, slow charging and so on are just some of the problems Android phones have with poor battery performance, yet Android 8.0 is here to help.
Google implemented background restrictions and a few other under-the-hood changes, but the biggest battery-saving measure is a static notification that could make you crazy. I bet that you know what I am talking about.
When Google first rolled out Android Oreo, it seems that a persistent notification came with it that displayed all of the apps that were running in the background. With the release of the Android 8.1 Developer Preview, this notification has a new name “using battery”, yet is still there, making you a hard time.
This notification couldn’t be dismissed, and allows users to disable it from always showing.
How to Disable App is using battery Notification in Android 8.1 Oreo:
- First of all, unlock your handset;
- Then, go to its Settings menu;
- Select Apps & notifications;
- Tap on See all apps option under Recently opened apps;
- Then, you need to go into Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all apps;
- At this point, the App info list should show up;
- Tap on the 3-dot overflow menu on the top-right and select Show system;
- Scroll down a little and select the “Android System” app;
- Now, you have to select App notifications;
- Then, it’s the ideal time to scroll to the Other section;
- All you have to do now is to locate Apps consuming battery and you can finally toggle it OFF. Do you see how simple it really is?
At the end, I want to point out that not everyone running Android is dealing with battery drain – in fact, some users are really quite happy with the new OS versions, especially those with devices that run stock Android out of the box and I hope that you are also one of them.
