Nokia Normandy – Android or Windows?
I really hate it when companies like Nokia, in this case, don`t make up their minds concerning a certain affiliation or collaboration to an already established situation or plan. Some while ago, if you remember, Nokia wasn’t certain if their new smartphone would be named Normandy, or something else. Eventually, they decided. Now, they are still confused on whether they should be running their “extraordinary” handset with an user`s interface from Android, as settled, or from Windows. Up until now, little did we know about the device, and now, some leaked photos could give us the chance to take a closer look. And what we saw, indeed was something that was rather confusing than mind blowing.
Nokia is a little bit on the edge with its supposing Android but with an interesting interface that resembles the one that Windows is now using. As our source states, the leaked image showed something like this: “Two ways to interact with Normandy”.
The Normandy`s interface doesn’t seem at all as a friendly-user Android, being more of an atypical one of the normal Android, as users can no longer place icons and widgets on the interface. And honestly, I don’t think that users will be agreeing with this awkward situation.
So, what kind of user`s interface is it? It is definitely not an Android. Is it then Windows? Just think of the classic Android users trying to get their widgets from the Normandy`s interface or accessing their icons to play a different game or accessing a certain app, like they do with a normal Android. What happens then?
There is a question that will to be haunting us until Nokia would make their next move concerning the Normandy: is Microsoft going to take over things here and this is just another hint that the fate of the smartphone company is in their hands? Or perhaps Nokia is testing different user`s interface both from Android and Windows?
Let`s not jump into conclusion. We will just have to wait and see. Cheers folks!
