The Kyocera Torque gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Sprint
Good news for Kyocera Torque from Sprint owners: beginning tomorrow you can get the Android JB 4.1.2 on your phones. You will also get international calling, enhancements to sleep mode, power cycle and email sync. The rugger phone originally came with the Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We say rugged because the Kyocera Torque is not just a water and dust-proof smartphone. It is IP67 certified, can withstand four feet drops, low pressure up to 4572 meters, solar radiation exposure, 95 percent humidity and heavy dust as well. Shortly, it meets all those military specs along with the latest features, apps and tools and all thanks to the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.
The phone comes with a dual core 1.2GHz Krait processor with 1GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and supports 4G LTE. It only has a 4-inch screen, but this is compensated by the rest of its features. The Kyocera Torque has loud, clear speakers and also a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. The price tag Sprint offers is $349.99 contract-free or $99 on a two-year contract. The Torque has an extremely large removable battery weighing in at 2500mAh. The exterior of the phone is made out of black rubber, with makes it very easy for you to hold it.
The Kyocera Torque is a great handset to have and to hold, especially in tough, extreme environments. Our source states that you could even freeze it or throw it in the washing machine. We believe that to be absolutely true. I actually broke my phone’s display today, of course accidentally. There’s not a phone in this world I would like to have more than the Torque, especially with the new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OTA update that has been announced. Do you agree with me? Or what reasons do you have not to?
