Android 4.4.2 KitKat On its Way to Galaxy S4 Mini (Tutorial Included)

The international LTE version of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini LTE is ready to receive the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat official firmware update that comes with the build number I9195XXUBNB3.

All users of this device having the model number GT- I9195 can upgrade their handset to the latest firmware through Samsung Kies or they can simply wait for the over-the-air update to reach to their Galaxy S4 Mini.

And don’t forget that there’s a third option to take into consideration as well: you can download the update package and manually install the OS by yourself.

Review the risks:

  • First of all, you must understand that this tutorial is not compatible with all Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini versions. The model number of your handset has to be GT- I9195, or you should know from the start that you’ll fail completing this procedure;
  • After flashing the firmware, any installed custom ROM that you might have now on your Galaxy S4 Mini will be lost;
  • That’s your risk to take, so be careful about the list of preparatory steps and don’t forget to respect the tutorial exactly as given:

Preparatory steps:

  • The actions that you are going to take might wipe the data from your Galaxy S4 Mini, so you strongly suggest that you to back up your apps, contacts, messages, game progress and anything else that it might be important; a proper back-up of all your important data might save you of any later potential inconveniences;
  • In order to apply this procedure, you must use a computer or a notebook; on both your computer and your Galaxy S4 Mini handset you should temporarily uninstall any form of security protection which can interrupt the process;
  • Check if you have the USB drivers for the device already installed on the computer; if not, don’t hesitate to do that now;
  • Do not leave aside the fact that you have to turn on USB Debugging on your Galaxy S4 Mini by going to Settings>More>Developer Options;
  • The smartphone must have at least 70 percent battery power left or it might turn off in the middle of the procedure.

    This is not 4.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • No, it’s not Android 4.4, it’s Android 4.4.2. If you can’t understand english, try to search procedures in your own language and stop blaming others for your incapacity to understand facts like: ” First of all, you must understand that this tutorial is not compatible with all Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini versions. The model number of your handset has to be GT- I9195, or you should know from the start that you’ll fail completing this procedure;”

      • Cento says:

        It’s 4.2.2 what are you tolking about ??? I have i9195. Do you know the difference betwen the jelly bean and the kitkat? I think not

        • Cento says:

          See the download link…

          • The update is for Android 4.4.2. It is rolled out by Samsung for a while now and you can update your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to that version if your carrier made it available for you. But because users reported some issues after updating, we decided to include a tutorial for downgrading to 4.2.2. The 4.4.2. is an OTA update, not a manual update. I hope you will understand now!

            AndroidFlagship don’t blaming others for your incapacity to understand facts like :
            – None of Samsung or SamMobile provide the 4.4.x KitKat Official Android version for GT-i9195 ! (Samsung says that 4.4.2 would be available soon in july 2014 for Galaxy S4 Mini LTE),
            – You make confusion between 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 Android versions,
            – you write one time 4.4.2, one other time 4.2.2 (“How to manually install Android 4.2.2 KitKat on your Galaxy S4 Mini”)
            – as you can see, the 3 links you provide (see Cento’s screenshot) send us to 4.2.2 Rom and 4.2.2 is NOT KitKat but Jeally Beam,
            I hope YOU would understand that Kitkat Official Rom is NOT available for Galaxy S4 Mini LTE (GT-i9195) yet (at may 24th 2014) !!!!

            You must verify your information before blaming and making a tutorial which could caused brick for users….
