Xperia Z1s – Set For T-Mobile Release
We are used to see Sony Mobile introducing its smartphones at CES (we are referring to the S and Z lines, to be more specific) and this year is no exception. We are talking about the Xperia Z1S device which is set for an official nationwide T-Mobile January 22nd release. If you are interested to find what its improvements are, here we are to tell you some of the new specs. Just as the original version, this new Xperia Z1s phone is waterproof, but this time down to a depth of 4.9-feet for up to a half hour, while the previous one was rated at only 3 feet. And when it comes “omnibalance” design, we cannot tell you how much we like that its edges have been rounded with a plastic trim, offering it a much comfortable feel than before.
Just as its predecessors, its ports are tucked away behind flaps, excepting the headphone jack. But this time T-Mobile has decided to place it in the center of the top, being fully accessible when submerged, not to mention the new dual-detent camera key that allows you taking shots when submerged in water.
Who could complain about its 5-inch, 1080p Triluminos display that comes along with a X-Reality Engine for improved contrast in stills and videos? We definitely cannot. And although some people commented about the previous Z1 model as being underpowered, we think that this Snapdragon 800 processor that we have here is perfectly capable of supporting multiple tasking.
Although it has the same 5-inch screen size as its brother, this new Xperia Z1s version is instead much taller as long as we are also talking about a larger 3,000mAh battery placed inside. And don’t forget that it comes with the PlayStation App, as well as a variety of new camera apps and a 60-day trial of Sony music unlimited, as our source confirms.
Regarding its availability, we have already told you that this device set for an official release on January 22nd, but those who want it even sooner than that should know that an online pre-sale will go live on January 13th for free with T-Mobile’s Simply Choice Plan. As for those who want to buy a Z1s and a PlayStation 4, will also receive a $100 gift card.
