Learn to Download your Instagram Data
As you know, Facebook is making sure you can access your data across all its apps. The social network already let you download your data archive, but now, you can also download your data from Instagram, as part of the company’s compliance to Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation privacy rules, which are basically designed to give us more control over our data.
Therefore, if you want to save all of your Instagram data so you can move to another platform or if you are simply curious or like to keep a copy of everything, it’s time to learn to download your Instagram data. Even if this data download feature was initially available on the web version, it has also rolled out to Android, so there’s nothing stopping you from following the below steps.
At the end of this procedure, Instagram will send you an email with a link to a file with your photos, comments, search history, profile information, and more.
Learn to Download your Instagram Data:
- At first, login to Instagram;
- Now, you have to go to settings by tapping on the gear icon;
- Then, a pop-up will flash on your screen that will show multiple options – select on Privacy and Security;
- Scroll down and you should see the Data Download option;
- Select Request Download;
- Submit your email address.
That’s it! After completing the steps from above, the process will take up to 48 hours to revert back to your given email ID with all the Instagram data. I must agree that you can’t do much on the collected information, but it’s your right to be informed, so why not?
If you don’t want to wait that long for your data report, there’s another option for you too: you can login to Instagram, access Settings, go to Privacy and Security, scroll down to Account Data, select View Account Data and you will see info such as when you joined Instagram, complete search history, all your privacy and password changes, who is following you and who you’ve blocked, former usernames and full names, all your logins and logouts and more.
