How to Remap the Bixby button on your Galaxy S10E
Samsung released the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10E devices just a few days ago, so you moved pretty fast. Owning the Galaxy S10E handset is quite a big deal, you know! All these handsets brought in a lot of unique features, like the hole-punch display, power-sharing, and Bixby is there too. Will I hear a Hurray about that? I don’t think so.
This feature is highly controversial. Samsung even decided to include a dedicated button for its digital assistant on Galaxy phones since the Samsung Galaxy S8. Even so, people wanted to move away from it as far as possible. After all, the button is sitting on the left side of the phone, just below the volume rocker. That makes it ideal for accidental clicks, which triggers Bixby and there’s no fun. No fun at all!
One UI no longer lets you disable Bixby entirely, which is disappointing for your Galaxy S10E. But a recent update, as of February 2019, lets you remap that button to open any app you want like the camera, Twitter, Gmail, or what you have in mind. The process is really easy and you won’t have to worry about hacking or downloading any third-party apps.
You will just be able able to launch any app you want by single or double-pressing the Bixby button on the left side of your Galaxy phone. That’s how easy it is:
How to Remap the Bixby button on your Galaxy S10E:
- At first, you need to open Settings;
- Tap Advanced Features;
- Then, tap Bixby key;
- Select Double press to open Bixby;
- Enable Use single press toggle;
- You must now tap inside Use single press area;
- Then, you have to tap Open app;
- Tap on the Settings button;
- Up next, just select the app you want. If you want to load the Google app, Facebook, the camera, or whatever you want, you can now do it!
That’s it! Now you can double-press the Bixby button to open the app, and single-press it to open anything you want.
