MWC 2014: Huawei Launches MediaPad M1 and MediaPad X1 Android Tablets
Huawei has just launches its MediaPad M1 and X1 Android tablets at MWC in Barcelona. The Huawei MediaPad M1 will be available in both white and titanium color choices, from Q1 2014, as the company says, so before the end of March we should expect it to reach Asia Pacific, Australia China, Europe, Latin America, Japan, Russia and the Middle East too for a price of €299. As for Huawei MediaPad X1, it will become available in Western Europe, China, Russia, Japan the Middle East, and Latin America from March as well, but the price is not known at this point. We know instead their technical specs and features, officially confirmed by Huawei, and we are sure that you’ll like what they have to offer:
Huawei MediaPad M1
This MediaPad M1 budget device comes with an 8-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 920 pixel resolution which is still good enough for watching HD video and it is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core chipset. Here we can also find a 5-megapixel camera on the back, as well as a 1-megapixel on the front for those of you who see video calls as a part of their life.
As for its 4800mAh battery, it is said to be good enough for up to eight hours video playback, according to what Huawei has declared. And just as we have seen on many other Huawei handsets, you have once again the possibility to use the tablet’s battery to charge up your smartphone too.
Are you are worried about the company’s choice regarding the OS? It is true that you can find the Emotion UI skin, but Huawei has only added the Android 4.2 version on top of it.
Huawei MediaPad X1
We have heard about this MediaPad X1 weeks before the official event, but now we can finally tell you for sure that it comes with a 7-inch, 1080p HD display and a powerful 1.6GHz quad-core processor that should make even multi-tasking easy. Moreover, the rear camera is much better than what the majority of tablets generally offer; this model here comes with both a 13 megapixels snapper and a 5-megapixel secondary one, not to mention that it has an internal storage of 16GB.
Powering the tablet you can find an impressive 5,000 mAh battery, which Huawei estimates as offering no less than 500 hours of standby ad 3.5 days of normal use and don’t leave aside the OS. Huawei MediaPad X1 might run on an old version of Android (just 4.2 Jelly Bean), but the company tries to make up for this disadvantage by adding the most recent 4G technology in order to offer you the fastest speeds your network offers.
