Samsung Galaxy S5 dual-SIM Version in China; Price Set at CNY5,299
Samsung has just launched a dual-SIM version of its Galaxy S5 in China, having the model number G9009D and a price of no less than $850 (CNY5,299). But don’t you imagine that you can already have it: this model will be available along with the standard editions of the Galaxy S5 starting this April 11 and as you are probably expecting, we are talking about one SIM card slot supports CDMA2000, while the other one supports GSM. But don’t leave aside the fact that it uses two cellular radios and the same 2,800 mah capacity battery, so we can already anticipate that the battery life will not be as good on the device. As for the rest of its specs and features, they are similar to the ones found on the standard Galaxy S5 version and here we have more details for those who aren’t familiar with this device:
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Design
In terms of design, Samsung Galaxy S5 feels solid enough, despite of the fact that we are only talking about a plastic construction. Samsung might have disappointed many of you by not releasing a full metal version as we were all hoping to see in the first place, but at least it has made its Galaxy S5 both waterproof and dustproof thanks to an IP67 rating, so the handset is resistant to dust and waterproof to a depth of 1m for no less than 30 minutes.
Major Specs and Features
Samsung S5 was also initially rumored as coming with a 5.2inch screen having a 2560 × 1440 resolution, but we only have a 5.1inch Super AMOLED display with a 1920×1080 resolution. That’s not necessary a disappointing choice, but some of us hoped getting much more, that’s for sure. In terms of power, Samsung Galaxy S5 packs a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which runs on the most recent Android version released by Google (KitKat), with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. And the camera that we can find on this Samsung Galaxy S5 device is probably one of the most impressive elements of the handset. To be more precise, we are referring to a 16MP sensor that comes with superfast autofocus (it can easily capture a photo in no more than 0.3second), no to mention the HDR which can give you a visual representation of what your photo will actually look like when high dynamic range is applied even before you actually press the shutter button. And don’t leave aside its 4K video recording support abilities!
Are you also curious to find out more about its battery? We can tell you that its 2800mAh battery is not the best choice, but its extra features will get you through the day comfortably. We are referring to its Ultra Power Saving Mode that can easily turn the display to black and white for minimizing the battery consumption; moreover, Samsung claims that its battery is able to provide 21 hours of talk time per charge, as well as up to 390 hours of standby.
The Galaxy S5 comes equipped with a heart rate sensor placed exactly under the flash of the camera; all you have to do is to hold your finger on it for a few seconds and you’ll get a full reading of your pulse. Moreover, we weren’t expecting Samsung to bring a fingerprint scanner to its Galaxy S5, but the company has managed to surprise us all. We like the fact that it gives you an added level of security, but you still have to wake the handset by pressing the home or power button before you can scan. And don’t forget about the Download Booster which can easily combine the power of Wi-Fi with either 3G or 4G download speeds in order to offer us better opportunities to get our files on the go.
So, is there anyone living in China waiting to become the owner of this Samsung Galaxy S5 device in a few days? What do you think about its price?
