Sony Smartwatch 3 Released in Canada through Bell; Priced at $279

First unveiled in September the Sony Smartwatch 3 is now available in Canada. The Android Wear-powered watch was released only in certain Bell Canada stores, while it will also be launched online and in physical Sony stores later this month.

Sony made a smart move with their Smartwatch 3 by choosing to use Android Wear as its operating system; the platform allows users that owns any Android powered smartphone, running on Android 4.3 OS or higher, to purchase and use the wearable device. In addition, Sony included a GPS within its smartwatch so you can take a quick jog, or go to the gym without making your smartphone keep track of the distance.

Specs wise,  Smartwatch 3 comes with 4GB of internal storage, so you can add your favorite songs to play while you work out, by using the Bluetooth headset instead of the ear buds. Thus, if you are interested Sony Smartwatch 3 was officially released in Canada under the price tag of  $279 CAD.

For those of you who need a little reminder, let me just tell you that the smart watch features a 1.6-inch 320 x 320 pixel TFT LCD display. It has a Snapdragon 400 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz, with 512 MB of RAM memory and the already mentioned 4 GB storage.

Also, it features Bluetooth 4.1 for connectivity and a 420 mAh battery that should give you some of the best battery life for a smartwatch. Sony was wise enough to make its Smartwatch 3 waterproof; it is certified IP68 for dust and water, so you can have it submerged in the water for up to 30 minutes.

Another interesting feature presented on Sony’s Smartwatch is the interchangeable bands. You can choose one for different events and occasions having the possibility to choose between multiple plastic watchbands in a multitude of colors.
