Verizon OTA Android 5.0 Lollipop Released for Motorola Moto X
What was thought to be only a soak test on Verizon is now a general release. That is what happened at Verizon with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for 2014 Motorola Moto X. So how we translate all this? Well, in a few words, it’s time to get enthusiastic as your Moto X will receive a new notification. Therefore, OTA Android 5.0 Lollipop should be spotted on your phone at any moment now.
In case you are wondering the OTA brings stock Android 5.0 Lollipop OS in a stable and smooth firmware that will perfectly embrace your Motorola Moto X (2014 version of the smartphone). You will get all the latest features and OS improvements that are included on Google’s OS release, so you have all the reasons for flashing this roll out.
Of course, for being able to receive the notification your Moto X should be on stock KitKat OS and not powered by a custom ROM firmware. Moreover, your device should not be rooted – else you will have to manually update your Moto X with Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware.
The OTA release will be offered gradually and in phases so not all the Verizon Moto X users will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop notification at the same moment – some of them will receive the software sooner than others. If you want to check if the update is available, go to “menu – settings – about phone – software update”.
If the notification is there, ensure that a WiFi connection is enabled before doing anything else – don’t use your data plan on the download process (the update has 600MB). After that just follow the on screen prompts as Android 5.0 Lollipop will be automatically installed on your Verizon Motorola Moto X.
Well, that was all for now. Have your received the OTA? Did you test the new Lollipop OS? Do share your experience with us and with our readers if you have.
