Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA Released for Sprint Google Nexus 5
Sprint just announced that starting from today, December 15th, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop is available for its Google Nexus 5 smartphones. The firmware comes with the built number of LRX22C and brings latest Android OS to Nexus 5. This OTA release is quite late since we are talking about a Nexus branded device, which was supposed to receive OTA updates right away and straight from Google.
Anyway, the best is that Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS is now available for Sprint model of Google Nexus 5. Of course, the LRX22C OTA will be rolled out in phases and gradually, therefore don’t panic if you don’t receive your notification in day one – not all the users will receive the update at the same time. You can anytime check for updates by going to “menu – settings – about phone – software version – software update”. If the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA is being available, enable a WiFi connection and follow on screen prompts for completing the flashing process.
LRX22C comes with stock Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, so all the latest features and apps will be now installed on your Sprint Google Nexus 5. Of course, the ROM has received a slightly touch from Sprint so you might also receive Sprint’s own dedicated software.
So, have you received your notification, or are still waiting for the OTA roll out? Do share your thoughts with us and with our readers by using the comments field from down below. If you have applied the Lollipop OTA, test the new software and see how Android 5.0.1 runs on your Sprint Nexus 5. Do note that an unofficial CM12 custom ROM has been made available for your phone, so if you really want to spice things up, consider in updating your smartphone with a custom ROM software.
