Android 4.4 dubbed as Kit Kat
Google announced the new Android 4.4, called KitKat. Although many are surprised by the name and some even think of it as a joke, we should remind them that all Android versions were named like sweets (Key Lime Pie, Jelly Bean and so on). A video was also posted on Kit Kat’s Youtube channel, revealing the fact that Kit Kat has “adjustable orientation” that allows it to “work perfectly in portrait or landscape for a truly panoramic taste experience that will leave you up in the cloud” . The candy bar now has the Android character on the wrap and also mentions Google and Android.
Besides that, the chocolate is 10mm thick, one finger long, four finger wide and has options for 2 mega-bites, 4 mega-bites and a chunky-bite option, being bigger that the classic model. The candy bar also offers contests where you can win Android devices, so look for it, because I’m guessing it comes in limited edition. According to our source, it took between six and nine months for Google to get approval for using the name of the chocolate on their new product. Jennifer Podhajsky, vice-president of U.S. chocolate at Hershey states that the match between the chocolate and Android is a nice one, Android users being young people who consume chocolate.
The Android 4.4 Kit Kat might be released in October, so we’re impatiently waiting for it. You can watch the video of the new candy bar design here. We don’t know when the chocolate bar will reach the markets, but we’re hoping it’ll be soon, because our appetite for sweets just got bigger.
