Viber Out Is Now Available Worldwide, Bringing Low Cost Calling
Viber, one of the most popular cross-platform messaging and calling applications has just revealed a new service. The Viber Out service is available worldwide and uses credit purchased through in-app purchases or via other credit card for desktop users. The credit can be used on initiating called via Android, iOS or desktop clients. Moreover, the application will continue to add more content as well as to add more stickers to their paid Viber Sticker Market.
As expected, the main focus lies on the rate plans. While offering substantial savings compared to Skype or any other calling service, Viber plans to offer HD audio at rates that are bellow the normal standards. As the following picture shows, it appears that Viber actually offers disruptive rates, which might cause a precedent among other providers of internet calling.
This worldwide Viber Out release comes soon after Viber has previously enabled the service in the Philippines after the Typhoon Haiyan in order to help people get in touch with their friends and family. To offer this free call possibility from the Philippines, Viber signed a contract with telcos across the world such as Telecom Austria, Telecom New Zealand, Hutchinson, Telecom Italia, Citic, and many others.
Now, the official release will allow users from all over the world to initiate calls at low rates on Android, iPhone or Desktop. As it was mentioned earlier, the required credit can easily be purchased with an in-app purchase from Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, or with a credit card in the case of Viber for Desktop. When calling, Viber will display the real phone number to the recipient. Unlike other services, Viber has the phone address book even on the Desktop service, so you do not have to dial or remember names.
Related to the sticker part, Viber Out is part of the Viber Sticker Market as the second paid features. In this respect, the big messaging and calling platform added multiple new stickers, and it will continue to add more. In the same time, Viber announced that they released a promotional video displaying one of its signature character and namely Violet.
At this point, Viber gives support to more than 200 million users in more than 193 countries while being compatible whit Android, iOS Windows, BlackBerry, Bada, Linux, Mac, Symbian, or Nokia. If you are interested in downloading this amazing service, Viber is available both on Google’s Play Store and on Apple’s App Store, free of charge.
