Learn to Take Wide Angle Selfies on Google Pixel 3
Last year’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL had amazing cameras, and Google claims that this year’s models are even better. Should we trust it? We better should because you are getting an awesome camera. For as long as it’s been making phones, Google has offered a high-end camera that requires only a single lens. That hasn’t changed, at least when it comes to the rear camera.
We must agree that adding a second lens to the front-facing camera was indeed an inspired choice. Yes, you have no reason to complain about. Your Pixel 3 may come with a single camera on the back, but up front, you’ll find two cameras that do more than expected. And one of those two front shooters incorporates a wide-angle perspective, making it very well suited for group selfies.
On plenty of other Android phones that have wide-angle lenses, switching to that perspective can be at least annoying (not to say that this literally drives you mad). I am saying that since the procedure involves going to the settings or a specific menu. However, the new Google Pixel smartphone makes it as easy as it possibly could be: all you have to do is zoom out when taking a self-portrait.
Here’s the detailed procedure in case of needing more details:
How to Take Wide Angle Selfies on Google Pixel 3:
- Open the Camera app;
- Then, you have to tap the icon to the left of the shutter button to switch from the rear camera to the front camera. You’ve done it a million times before, so I am sure that you won’t find it at all difficult;
- Now, it’s time to tap the minus button on the zoom slider. This will take the perspective as far out as possible, switching to the wide angle lens as opposed to the standard lens. This wasn’t at all hard, right?
Note: You may also slide your finger backwards from the center to adjust the perspective in a more gradual way.
I’m not a huge selfie-taker, but I think I’d actually take them more often with this phone. The wide-angle lens captures so much of the background that it makes the selfie camera infinitely more useful.
