How to Schedule Software Updates on your Galaxy S9

In the early days of Android, system updates were generally random: they would roll out at different times and there wasn’t so much fuss about them, but things have changed now. To be more precise, Google has taken a different approach and organized things into releasing one major Android update per year, as well as smaller updates once per month or so. Installing device software updates should be a main concern in your Galaxy S9 smartphone.

It is all about security, fixing the existing errors and getting the best and Samsung, just like other manufacturers, has a habit of skinning its phones to make them stand out in the crowd. The company changed the interface and several apps to make the Galaxy S9 handset look unique every time there’s an Android update, Samsung has to take time making all these changes. That causes a huge delay and often leads to confusion of unwanted situations.

In normal conditions, from a Home screen, you have to swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen. Then, you enter into Settings > System updates and simply tap Check for system updates. If advised that the software is up-to-date, just tap OK and rest assured that you did what you had to do; however, if a new software update is available, then you need to tap Download. Once the download has completed, tap the option that says Install Now and like that, your phone is safe and sound.

While Android defaults to automatically updating apps when your Galaxy S9 phone is connected to a Wi-Fi connection, sometimes those updates happen at inopportune times. If you prefer to change it, you can choose to schedule a specific time for any software updates.
