Set up Face Recognition on your Galaxy Note 9

Samsung has added layers of security to their latest flagship – Galaxy Note 9. One of the features which is not only interesting, but also useful is the Facial recognition.

Phones like the iPhone X and your very own Galaxy Note 9 use biometric information to unlock your device, like your unique facial pattern and I bet that some of you actually find it more convenient or more novel to use face unlocking versus their fingerprint.

So, how to easily set it up and running? That is what you are about to find out. And I bet that you are no stranger of all those rumors about the dangers of using such a method on your Note 9 and some of them are indeed for real, but Samsung‘s implementation of this alternative unlocking method is really good, and you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t turn it on, at least out of pure curiosity and only for a while.

Learn to Set up Face Recognition on your Galaxy Note 9:

1. Go to Settings;
2. Here, select the Biometrics and Security page;
3. The next screen will reveal several options from which you need to tap on Face Recognition;
4. You will get a screen with the option to Continue, so tap on it;
5. After that, you get the option to set pattern, PIN or password to be able to use face recognition on your Galaxy Note 9 device. Therefore, you must use your desired option and set a pattern, PIN or password on the phone and once it is set you will be moved to the next screen;

9. Once your face has been scanned you will be led to a different screen asking to Turn On Faster Recognition or Turn Off to make it difficult for the phone to unlock the phone using a video or an image;
10. At this point, you will be directed to the Notifications screen. You have the option to turn on or off – Hide Content and Notifications Icons Only;
11. Next screen will inform you that your face has been registered and you get the option to Turn On or Not Now;
12. Once you turn on the feature is set and functioning on your phone, feel free to use facial recognition to unlock your phone.
