Get Android 9.0 Pie on your Huawei P20 Pro (Europe Update)

The Mate 10 Pro handset received the Android 9.0 Pie before any other Huawei smartphone, although I cannot tell you for sure how many users actually received the update since it wasn’t officially announced. To be honest, this turned into quite a confusion, but now we have an actual confirmation that a few other Huawei smartphones are about to get updated to Android Pie, at least according to the Chinese company.

Now, I have another Huawei device in my mind, namely P20 Pro, which is getting the long-awaited Android Pie update as well. Just like the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei P20 Pro is only receiving the update in Europe for the time being, but we can only imagine that users all around the world will get it by the end of the year.

Therefore, the update is available for Huawei P20 Pro with model no. CLT-L09 and C432 and the build number 9.0.0.108 remains same that has hit Mate 10 Pro. Speaking of the changelog which is posted on the Huawei’s server, I must tell you from the start that it states the usual Android 9.0 features that you are expecting to get, along with some little UI changes with improvements in the overall system.

I am talking about the fact that Google removed the original home button with a pill that supports gestures, you can enjoy the addition of a Dashboard as a feature which would help you track the apps usage, sleep and more, the Android 9 Pie has an all-new user interface which is even more minimal, but it looks awesome, while the new Recent Apps menu or the fact that Google is going to show you information that’s embedded within apps (Slices) are a real joy. And these are just a few examples, as many other goodies are waiting to be discovered!

For the time being, you can verify if the update is waiting for you by heading into Settings > About phone. Up next, just scroll down to find the update. Of course, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA update, you may also choose to flash the update file manually on your handset by following the proper procedure, but if you live in Europe, it’s a matter of days! Can’t you wait just a little longer?
