Sony Xperia Z2 Compact Received FCC Approval
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is about to receive a successor or at least this is what we tend to believe after seeing Xperia Z2 Compact receiving FCC approval. This device that we are talking about has been certified as the Sony SO-04F “Altair”, so we can already anticipate the fact that is going to be made available via NTT DoCoMo of Japan. And the story makes perfect sense if we take into consideration that Sony Xperia Z1 is known as SO-01F, while Xperia Z1 Compact is none other than SO-02F.
Dimensions and 20.7MP sensor
From what we know at this point regarding Sony’s Xperia Z2 Compact handset, it measures 127.6mm x 65.5mm, being just millimeter taller and wider compared to its Xperia Z1 Compact predecessor. Moreover, at the back of this smartphone we can discover a 1/2.3″, 20.7MP sensor and Sony G Lens, just as we can always expect receiving from any Xperia Z phone.
For those having Doubts…
As for those still having their doubts regarding the device that we are talking about, we can only tell you that we have one more clue that might change your mind. If we take in consideration the schematics offered by the FCC, we can say that this handset really looks like a Compact thanks to the positioning of the front-facing camera and sensors which perfectly match that of the Z1 Compact handset.
To be more precise, the front-facing cameras are next to the earpiece in both Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2 cases, rather than in the right corner. But if you want to know more about its specs and features, then you’ll have to wait for more details to appear. That’s all that we know for the moment, but we’ll be back soon with fresh info.
