Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 Update Released for HTC One SV

Even though Google has made official the latest version of Android, the KitKat firmware, not all the Android based devices out there will receive the same update. As you know, first the Android 4.4 OS will be rolled out for the Nexus devices (Galaxy Nexus not included as the smartphone will no longer receive OTA updates due to hardware limitations) and then the software will be released for the handsets that can be installed with the same.

Therefore, the mid range smartphones will not receive the Android 4.4 KitKat notification. Anyhow, leaving aside the new Android OS, we have some really good news for the HTC One SV users, as HTC just released the Android 4.2.2 OTA updates. The OS can be applied by all the One SV users who are on stock Android system – if your phone is rooted or installed with a custom ROM you will not be able to receive the official OS via OTA (you will have to use a manual update guide) – , though the update will be rolled out in phases or gradually which means that some users will receive the OTA sooner than others.

The Android 4.2.2 update for HTC One SV is also coming with HTC’s Sense 5 UI along with other important features and capabilities that will power up the performances, bump the speeds, resolve the bugs, change the looks of your phone and also improve the battery life of the same.

This is a long expected update by the HTC One SV users, as when the handset was released in January, Ice Cream Sandwich was pre-installed. I know that this is not Android 4.4 KitKat, well not even Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but at least you are getting the Jelly Bean touch on your HTC One SV. The handset is a mod range, budget friendly Android smartphone that comes with decent performances; the specs and features list is including a 4.3 inch display, a dual core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, a 5 MP camera on the back along with a 1.3 MP front facing shooter and as mentioned before Android 4.0 ICS pre installed.

Well, the best is that you can now update your HTC One SV to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, and who knows maybe during the following weeks Android 4.3, or higher will be provided for your device. So, have you received the OTA, or are you still waiting for the same?
