New 7-inch JB 4.2.2 Toshiba AT7-A tablet Incoming
Although Toshiba recently released not one, not two, but three tablets – the Excite Pure, Pro and White, a new model code-named AT7-A is making its presence noticed on the internet (and by internet we mean GFXBench.com). Tests demonstrate it to be a high quality device, compared to other tablets, although specs show otherwise. The original name hasn’t been provided yet. We’ll have to wait for Toshiba to announce the small-sized tablet and with it, the full specifications, in order to clarify the fact that it has received a 17,639 score on AnTuTu benchmark. The price also hasn’t been rumored so far.
Specs wise, we must go along with our source on the fact that it will feature Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. The device is said to come with a 1024 x 552 pixels display. The Toshiba AT7-A will use 1.6 GHz processor and a Mali-400MP GPU, according to another one of our sources. So far, that’s all we could find out so you can understand now why it is hard for us to believe in the score from AnTuTu. So that’s why we can’t wait for the company to come forward with more information, or even better, for the tablet to be released so we could test it ourselves.
The Toshiba Excite Pure has a 1280 x 800 pixels, 10.1 inches display and runs the same Android version, with an nVidia Tegra 3 processor. The Pro is also 10.1 inches big, but with a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution and comes with an nVidia Tegra 4 SoC. The White is similar to the Pro, but with an extra digital stylus and the wide range of apps that support it. All of them were announced June 2013 and expected Q3, 2013. We could say that the AT7 is a small brother for all of these devices, and hope it will also have a smaller price. The tablets we spoke about earlier cost between 299-599$.
