Samsung Galaxy Alpha Will Come Exclusively to AT&T on September 26th
Samsung’s metalling Smartphone, the Galaxy Alpha, will be available on AT&T starting with this Friday for $199 on-contract. The American carrier announced today that it would exclusively carry the Galaxy Alpha, and it will offer the handset in three different color versions: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White and Frosted Gold. The smartphones will be available on the carrier’s stores and online starting with September 26.
The device, which brings the already-famous metallic frame and a texturized plastic back cover that is similar to the Galaxy S5, comes with a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display and 720p screen resolution, an octo-core Exynos 5430 processor, 2 GB of RAM memory, and the 12 MP rear camera. The battery will be 1,860 mAh, which will assure a minimum of one-day use in normal conditions.
On AT&T, the handset will be available for $199,99 on a two-year commitment, for $612,99 the unlocked version, or the two options Next 18 and Next 12 installment plans meaning $25.55 respectively $30.65 per month. Regarding the order page of the carrier, at this time, it might be unavailable.
Comparing the device with the Galaxy S5, the latter costs 649.99 unlocked or the same $199.99 on contract. However, the manufacturer considers the Alpha handset as a flagship, but the critics will have to establish if this is actually true. The price might also disappoint those who were hoping for a more attractive price tag for Samsung’s new device.
According to AT&T, no other US carrier will be seeing the device any time now, so, if you are willing to purchase the device, you will have to visit the carrier’s stores and the online source of the retailer.
It is unclear whether AT&T will have an indefinite period of exclusivity on the Alpha device. As in the case of other recent devices made available on AT&T, clients who opt for the AT&T Next installment plan will receive a $100 credit on their bill.
