CM12 Android 5.0.2 Available for Yu Yureka

UPDATE: CyanogenMod OTA released the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop CM12S OS for the Yu Yureka. Therefore, you can anytime choose to manually update your smartphone to official CM 12S firmware.

Yu Yureka is currently offering a great Android experience as the phone is featured by one of the most popular custom ROMs available on the market: CyanogenMod. Unfortunately, by default, Yu Yureka runs on CM 11, which means that KitKat OS is installed above all. Well, thanks to those of xda-developers now you can update your phone to latest Android OS as CM 12 firmware has been released.

Unfortunately we are not talking about an official release of CM12 for your Yu Yureka. This ROM is only based on stock CM firmware, thus you won’t be able to receive the software as an OTA update. Moreover, the ROM has been optimized and customized by those of xda-developers, so this CM12 built shouldn’t be associated with Micromax or with Cyanogen Inc..

Anyway, according to the devs, CM 12 for Yu Yureka brings a stable Lollipop OS that will run without any problems. There aren’t any reported bugs, lags or other software related issues, so you can safely install Android 5.0.2 OS on your Yu Yureka.

But, the best will be to make a Nandroid backup before doing anything else. In this way you will be able to save the current ROM that runs on your smartphone – if CM12 will not be on your taste, then you will be able to easily use the Nandroid backup for downgrading back to stock firmware.

Do note that CM 12 Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS is nothing but a custom ROM firmware and not an official Android update. So, for being able to flash the ROM on your Yu Yureka, first you will have to root your Android device. Moreover, a custom recovery image, such as CWM or TWRP recovery, must be installed on your phone as the update package will come as a .zip file.
