Moto X New York release date
Motorola has finally set the time and venue for the release of the Moto X in New York. As you know, the event will take place on August 1st, and now hours have been set. It seems like it’s going to last from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. and a few entertainers like DJ Kaskade, M4SONIC, the comedy collective JASH, Thank You X, and Chef Marc Forgione will be present to make sure the guests are having a good time. The Moto X leaked in a few photos a couple of days ago, showing features like Active Display, Active Notifications, Connect Chrome Extension or Assist.
According to our source, the invitation also features the Moto X cameo. It is a back shot of the device, but at least we get to take an official look at the device. If we should go by previous announcements, the handset will first be available at Rogers. The device has been first leaked in a photo a while ago, along with rumored specs. Also, at the beginning of July we first saw the case of the white Moto X, which also can be seen on the latest invitation to Motorola’s event.
As for the specs, the handset is expected to feature:
- a 4.7-inch display of 720-by-1184 pixels
- a dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro MSM8960DT 1.7GHz CPU and Adreno 320 graphics processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB of storage space
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
- a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a 10.5-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash
- a 2,200 mAh non-removable battery
- NFC
- Case measures 128.5mm x 65mm
We’re looking forward for the event and also for the launch of this new device. We believe the specs are nice, however we aren’t expecting a top handset, acknowledging the fact that the Moto X will be a mid-range smartphone. We’ll keep you posted with news.
