How to Quickly Launch Capture+ and the Camera on LG G5

Most Android phones have some interesting methods of quickly launching your phone, like Samsung’s double press of the home button or the Moto X’s popular shake gesture. As of Android Marshmallow, however, all Android phones can launch the camera with a double-tap of the power button (unless a manufacturer removed the feature for some reason or another). It’s easily one of the quickest ways to launch the camera app, no matter what you might be currently doing with your phone.

After a long and unhappy experiment with the Volume buttons on the back of phones, I am glad to see that LG finally put them back on the side on its latest LG G5 smartphone. That doesn’t mean they dropped support for the shortcut functionality, but on the contrary, you can still use the volume buttons to quickly launch the camera or take notes despite of the fact that the display is off.

For the start, enter in the handset’s Settings;
Then, find your way to Shortcut key;
Switch the toggle to On;
Double tapping Volume Up will launch the Capture+ app for taking notes;
However, if you choose to double tap Volume Down, this will immediately launch the camera. And as long as you are here, let me tell you that on that same page in the settings you can choose to have the camera automatically take a photo as soon as it’s launched from the shortcut.
