Smart Glasses From Nokia Might Run Android OS
Remember the Nokia Normandy Android smartphone that we have talked about a few days ago? The news was surprising for each of us, but it seems that nothing is yet known for sure. Even this ‘Normandy’ is just a codename since the handset is supposed to be just in a developing phase and things are in mystery regarding any other possible specs, but all this time we were led to believe that the company is making progress on this project despite of Microsoft’s intentions of purchasing its mobile division. Now, things have changed once again and it looks like Nokia has abandoned its Android smartphone and tablet plans in favor of a completely new project – wearable devices and smart glasses which might run Android OS.
That’s at least what the C Technology Chinese publication has announced after it has speaking with several Nokia insiders. We have previously said that Nokia has just abandoned its Android smartphone and tablet plans and there’s no mistake if we take in consideration their statements regarding to the fact that the company was preparing not just this Normandy smartphone that we knew about, but more Android devices including a 7-inch tablet.
You can only imagine that their plan changes have something to do the upcoming Microsoft purchase, so we finally find out that Nokia will focus all its resources on other products that may be launched in 2015 or even later, as our source informs us. But can we be sure of all these?
We have no official statements on such wearable devices and smart glasses running on Android OS and can you actually believe that Nokia won’t make any smartphone or tablet models for at least two years, as it is supposed to be specified in the contract with Microsoft? We don’t know about you, but we have plenty of doubts. We’ll just have to wait and see.
