Lockdown your Pixel 3 XL Device in a Blink of an Eye

Google’s Pixel 3 XL has so much to offer. It is fast, it looks pretty good, it comes with an incredible display, and the camera is simply amazing, but there’s still plenty to discover about it! There may be a few moments when you may want to quickly lock down your phone to make sure no one can access it without your lock screen password. Google has made it easy, but you’ll need to turn this function on first. After doing that, you can easily trigger it by holding in the power button and selecting the Lockdown option from the popup.

This blocks things like the fingerprint sensor, facial-recognition, and voice-recognition features from being used. That can be pretty important and even if you may not know it, it’s already illegal for law enforcement to make you enter your PIN code or a phone pattern, and with Lockdown Mode. They can’t force you to use your fingerprint sensor or facial-recognition tech either, so such locking down your Pixel 3 XL in such a way might be a must.

You never know when you will have to use this. I am talking about situations where you’re concerned about someone forcing their way into your Pixel 3 XL phone by pointing it at your face or forcing your finger onto the sensor. Or maybe you want a fast way to lock it down, avowing all the hassle that might come with such a procedure involving trust connected Bluetooth devices options or setting up Smart Lock.

Lockdown your Pixel 3 XL Device in a Blink of an Eye:

  1. Go to Settings;
  2. Enter into Security & location > Lock screen preferences;
  3. Do you see the Show Lockdown option? You have to toggle it On, so hold down the pPwer button. You know what happens next. Once you trigger Lockdown, your Google Pixel handset immediately locks and the only way to unlock it is to enter your passcode;
  4. After entering the code, Lockdown mode will be automatically deactivated — so you’ll need to manually activate it again if you want it to stay on.

It’s unlikely you’ll need to use this feature much, but it’s always good to know!
