Galaxy S5 Revealed; No Curved Display after all
We all know a few details regarding the upcoming Galaxy S5 and if you remember, we even talked about it a few days ago. As a refresher, if we take in consideration the latest details regarding its specs, we tend to believe that will include a 2K pixels display (a curved one, to be more specific), while the power will be offered by an Exynos CPU processor. Besides these, the device will sport both a 16-megapixel rear camera and a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera and it will feature Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box. So far so good, but what if we tell you that the idea of having a curved display won’t turn out to be true?
Then, we must admit that Galaxy S5 stops looking as charming as we initially thought. Samsung’s current production lines seem to be able to produce up to no more than 500,000 flexible panels for smartphones (with a 30 percent yield), so you can understand that this number isn’t at all appropriate for Samsung Galaxy S5. But, his doesn’t have to mean that the story ends here and that you have to forget all about the idea of a curved display.
If this is what you were after from the start, then what do you think about a Galaxy variant that will have such a feature? We would be interested about such a Galaxy S5 and it seems that this news is not just a speculation, but actually one of the latest statements that the analyst at Seoul-based Eugene Investment & Securities has just offered to the press.
Anyway, you shouldn’t get too excited. First we’ll have the chance to buy this Samsung Galaxy S5 with no curved display, as our source confirms and only late next year we’ll also see such a curbed version.
