Lenovo N308 will be featuring Android OS
When we first saw this Lenovo N308 we must admit that we were a little confused. At 19.5 inches it is hard to appreciate if we are talking about a giant tablet or a small all-in-one desktop, but Lenovo was there to spread away the mystery. So, here we have Lenovo’s first all-in-one desktop featuring on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 that will be released in February starting at $450. We can tell you from the start that this isn’t what you are looking for if you have in mind the idea of a Full HD experience, but otherwise Lenovo N308 seems to be interesting enough in order to capture our interest.
When it comes to its processing power (specs wise), here we have an Nvidia Tegra quad-core chip that comes along with a 72-core graphics processor and it is surprising to find out that Instead of using Google‘s Chrome OS, the company has choose Android instead. Although it is indeed an older Android 4.2 version, we can imagine that Lenovo has planned an update on its schedule, so we totally agree with their unexpected decision.
As for its selection of ports, it includes a memory card reader, two USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet port and it can be configured according to your own preferences and budget with up to 2GB of memory, 8GB or 16GB of storage, and a 320GB or 500GB 5,400rpm hard drive.
So, that’s for sure not something that you could usually find in tablets of any size and Lenovo N308 has finally earned its title of being an all-in-one desktop, just as our source confirms. But we must admit that the 1,600×900-resolution 19.5-inch touch screen with two-point multitouch support is not quite what we’d be expecting from a desktop.
Anyway, this is Lenovo’s first step on this market area and that’s what we should all appreciate. And you have enough time until next month when this Lenovo N308 desktop is going to be released to decide if it is or not something that you want to invest in.
