T-Mobile Improves HTC One S battery life via OTA JB 4.1.1 Update
The HTC One S has been updated at the beginning of April by T-Mobile, and recently a new Jelly Bean 4.1.1 OTA update has arrived, in order to improve the battery life. Of course we are talking about minor, though importnat improvements and the new update is available for two days now, and will arrive to your phones in the next few days (the OTA is usually rolled out gradually). The update runs along with the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware (which the HTC One S got back in April) with software version 3.14.531.17 710RD. In fact, the 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update is the reason for the appearance of the battery life update. So keep your eyes wide open for update notifications, or simply verify your phone settings for available software updates. The battery update is also available on the HTC website.
However, make sure you have at least 50% battery when you get started, because it might take a while so we guess you wouldn’t like to start the same thing over and over again. Now, your handset shouldn’t be rooted – you will not be able to flash the OTA software, so it has to feature the 3.14.531.11 710RD build of Android 4.1. Going on T-Mobile’s website, you will find how to’s, or read about understanding the software version.
With the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean system, notifications have been improved, becoming expandable and actionable. The update also brought Google Now to the HTC One S and brought a 3.14.531.11 software version. All of these damaged the battery life so, as we were telling you earlier, an update in order to improve it was mandatory. So check for it and enjoy!
