MWC 2014: Lenovo Announces S860, S850 and S660 Android Smartphones
Besides the updated Yoga 10 HD+ tablet, Lenovo has also announced three new S660, S850 and S860 Android smartphones at MWC. We can tell you from the start that they all have a similar CPU and dual SIM capability, but different cameras, display sizes and battery sizes, according to your wish and budget too. We cannot guarantee that there is a Lenovo S handset for everyone, but this is what the company had tried to offer us and we think that there are big chances to have succeeded. So, until Lenovo S860, S850 and S660 will reach to selected markets and on Lenovo’s website starting June 2014, let’s see what each version has to offer:
Lenovo S860
As you have probably already guessed, this Lenovo S860 is the top-end member of the new family, but don’t you imagine that it is a high-end handset or anything close to that. It might have a 5.3-inch IPS HD resolution screen and a MediaTek quad-core CPU paired with 2GB of RAM, but it still lacks that sparkling that you might expect getting.
Moreover, Lenovo S860 packs both a 8MP main rear cam and 1.6MP front-facing one, while its massive 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery it is said to offer up to 40 days of standby time, as well as no less than 43 hours of talk time.
Lenovo S850
When it comes to the Lenovo S850 model, we want to tell you that it is equipped with the same MediaTek 1.3 GHz CPU, but the screen is of only 5-inch (1280×720 resolution), while the battery is downgraded from a 4000 mAh capacity to a 2000 mAh one.
But surprisingly, this version packs a much better 13MP rear camera that comes with a 5MP front shooter, not to mention the attractive glass exterior coming in both white and pink color options. But you must be careful about this aspect. Lenovo S850 might look more stylish, but the durability issues should be taken in consideration too.
Lenovo S660
Here we are at least to the entry-level smartphone of the new Lenovo S line, the S660. This version is powered by a similar MediaTek CPU, but its 4.7-inches screen has only a 960×540 resolution. You can take things into the negative manner or you can simply see it as a more compact choice that also has a brushed metal design perfectly resistant to scratches and fingerprints.
Other specs also includes a 8 MP rear camera (accompanied by a secondary 0.3MP one) and don’t forget that Lenovo S660 features Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, along with Lenovo’s suite of DOit apps, just as its other two brothers.
Those of you who are thinking of purchasing any of these Lenovo S860, S850, or S660 devices, should know that they will become available for no more than $349, $269 and $229 respectively.
