HTC One gets Android JB 4.2.2 Update for Taiwan
The Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OTA just arrived for HTC One international users in Taiwan, with a size of 465MB. Until now, it’s the only region to get the update. The Android 4.2.2 fixes a lot of bugs and comes with a new launcher bar, better photograph quality, battery percentage in the status bar, new lock screen style and widget and the long waited disappearance of the black bar. This appeared when you were running an application that didn’t support the latest Android guidelines and it was really ugly. You had a big black box in the middle of your screen.
As our source states, we have no information about when the update will be available to the HTC One carrier branded, yet, but at least we know it is ready and it is out there, so it shouldn’t be long. Previous announcements said that the Android JB 4.2.2 update would start rolling out in mid-June but it looks like it took a little bit longer to get it done. We really hope the update will arrive to international users in the next period, because many HTC One owners are complaining about the software that urgently needs an update.
We hope that the Android 4.2.2 update will be available worldwide sooner rather than later. In the meantime, if you receive a notification on your HTC One regarding the download of the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 firmware, take a photo of it and let us know. We are very curious how long it’s going to take and we would also like to calm down all the users with such news.
