Upcoming Octa-core HTC Desire 616 Spotted in Red Coating
There is no mystery that HTC has just launched its One M8, but the company’s plans for this year don’t stop here. From what we know at this point, HTC is also working on a new smartphone dubbed HTC Desire 616, which is rumored to come equipped with an octa-core processor and in a sparkling red coating as well, as you have also noticed in the picture. HTC Desire 616 has been just spotted at Tenaa, a Chinese certification website and we already know some of its most important technical specs and features:
Only Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
The upcoming Desire 616 will be made out of plastic, leaving the metal body advantages for HTC’s One M8 device. And we have more details confirming the fact that we are only talking about a mid-range Desire handset. For example, Desire 616 will only feature the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version instead of what we all want (KitKat).

We also know that Desire 61 will have a 5″ 720p display, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. And if these speculations will turn out to be true, this will also be Taiwanese company’s first octa-core smartphone to pack a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, but sadly paired with just 1GB of RAM.
As for the color options, the alleged Desire 616 might have been only spotted in red, but it is likely to come in five color options: White Black, Blue, Red, as well as Yellow.
And finally, you should know that there are some speculations that Desire 616 is a China-exclusive handset, but we cannot be sure of this aspect for the moment. We’ll share any fresh news on this smartphone as soon as they become available, so stay tuned for more!
