Mysterious Samsung SM-G906S Appears in Benchmark
We all know that earlier rumors suggested that a premium variant of the Galaxy S5 with metallic build and better resolution would arrive this year, but JK Shin denied the existence of such a premium Galaxy S5. With the Galaxy S5 right around the corner, speculations regarding a premium line are back, thanks to another benchmark about Samsung’s upcoming SM-G906S device. We all know that benchmarks are not a confirmation of anything, but they usually give us some clues regarding information that isn’t typically available until a company officially announces a product. And this might be the case of this Samsung SM-G906S spotted at GFXBench too.
Samsung SM-G906S: Details Revealed by GFXBench
From what we have just discovered, this Samsung SM-G906S gets the power from a Snapdragon 805 CPU clocked at 2.5GHz with an Adreno 420 GPU, being paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, also having a 5.2-inch QHD display. The device is also expected to come with both 15MP and 2MP cameras, not to mention that it runs on the most recent Android 4.4.2 OS version.
We don’t know about you, buy to us it sounds like a beefier version of Samsung’s popular GS5, just as Galaxy S5′s model number is none other than SM-G900, so everything starts making a sense. A new premium Galaxy S flagship could be in the works indeed, or maybe this has something to do with the fact that Samsung confirmed its plans to introduce 560ppi Super AMOLED displays for 2014.
If the benchmark scores are true, this Samsung SM-G906S could be a member of the premium F Series, but we cannot tell you that for sure. We just have to wait for more information to b reveled in the coming weeks (or even months).
