MediaTek Launches New 64-bit Chip Designed for Premium Android Devices
MediaTek has just launched its new MT6795, a 64-bit True Octa-core LTE smartphone System on Chip (SoC) designed exclusively for premium Android devices. You should know from the very beginning that this is actually the first 64-bit, LTE, True Octa-core SoC targeting the premium segment, with speed of up to no less than 2.2GHz, also sporting dual-channel LPDDR3 memory of up to 933MHz. And don’t you imagine that the list of impressive feature stops here!
A Truly Surprising MediaTek 64-bit Chip
To be honest, this MediaTek 64-bit Chip is one if the few models that have successfully managed to surprise us! What do you think about the fact that it comes with support for 480 frames per second 1080p Full HD Super-Slow Motion videos running at 1/16 of the original speed? And that’s not all!
The chip also supports displays with refresh rates of 120Hz. The new silicon will also be capable of recording and playing back 4K Ultra HD videos while using less power.
In these conditions, we have to admit that MediaTek is right: this MT6795high-performance SoC seems to be perfectly capable to satisfy the multimedia requirements of the most demanding users, coming with support for technologies that have never been seen in a smartphone.
Two other MediaTek 64-bit Chips
“MediaTek has once again demonstrated leading engineering capabilities by delivering breakthrough technology and time-to-market advantage that enable limitless opportunities for our partners and end users” said Jeffrey Ju, General Manager of the MediaTek Smartphone Business Unit, but don’t forget that MT6795 comes alongside two other MediaTek 64-bit chips: the MT6752 which is going to be used for mid-range devices and the MT67932 which will power entry-level Android handsets, so the company maintains the same respect for the other users as well!
And we won’t have to wait that long for experimenting all these: it seems that MediaTek MT6795-powered devices will become available by the end of 2014.
