HTC Desire Eye and HTC RE Arriving at AT&T on November 7th
AT&T, one of the US’s most important carriers, recently announced that they will be carrying the HTC Desire Eye and HTC Re camera starting with November 7th. The carrier also claims to be the only one who will be offering these two devices.
The HTC Desire Eye has gained the attention of the public by revealing a powerful front-facing camera. In fact, this camera feature is practically the same as the main one. HTC has managed to turn heads by considering both cameras equals. Therefore, the front-facing camera shares the same 13MB image capture as the rear sensor, and it also comes with its own set of LED flashes.
The hardware part is also impressive. The handset brings 5.2-inch 1.080p display powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, a 2400mAh battery and 16 GB of internal storage.
Its price will depend on the carrier plan you choose to take. So, it starts at $149.99 on a new two-year contract or $549 outright, in which case you will have to pay $ 22.92 or $27.50 per month on AT&T Next 18 and Next 12.
The second device, the HTC RE, is a handheld camera that can be mounted to a headgear, bike or other things, and it allows you to capture the best memories of your life. The RE camera is, in fact, a 16 MP shooter that automatically backs up images and footage to the cloud.
Videos and images you take can easily be sent to HTC’s new Zoe app, that allows you to mix and combine things in order to create masterpieces. What is important to mention is the fact that the RE camera is IPX 7 water resistant for underwater use. However, without a case, you will be able to use the device to one meter and up to 30 minutes.
In case you are interested, the carrier is offering a deal. If you buy the Desire Eye with AT&T Next on a two-year contract, you can get $50 discount when purchasing the HTC RE. This will bring the initial price down to $150 from $200.
