Xperia Z1 Compact – Smaller Version Of Xperia Z1
Samsung and HTC are not the only ones ready to offer us smaller versions of their flagship phones, but Sony is too and its latest revealing at CES 2014 confirms that. We are referring to the Xperia Z1 Compact device also known as Xperia Z1 Mini or Honami Mini which successfully packs the same specs as the top-end Xperia Z1 model, excepting the fact that it lowers the screen to a much more manageable 4.3-inches and that it houses a smaller 2300 mAh battery. Are you curious to find out more details about this pocketable Versions of Xperia Z1? So were we and that’s why we have gathered some of its most important specs and features here:
In terms of design, this Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is almost identical to its predecessor as long as it comes with the same all-glass front and back and a similar aluminium band running around the edge. Even more, here you can also find the chunky power button that stands out of the side along with the dedicated camera shutter button below. But this new Z1 has slimmer bezels than its bigger brother, which are supposed to make it much comfortable to hold even in one hand and it is available in a much larger pallet of colors including pink, lime, white, or black.
When it comes to its 720p display, it is indeed a step down from the Full HD of the original Xperia Z1, but it is still sharp enough at a pixel density of 340 pixels per inch. The simple fact that we are still talking about a TRILUMINOS display is the most important aspect, not to mention that it has the same 20.7 megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
Even more, here we have the same IP55 and IP58 ratings that will let you use the device in a depth of one meter for up to no less than 30 minutes. So its camera shutter button is ideal, spearing you of the underwater task to tap on the display to take a photo – which, let’s face it, seems quite hard, if not completely impossible.
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is able to provide cutting-edge tech in a smaller package and that’s something that we all like. And from what we know so far, it’s going to be released in the UK and Europe in the middle of February, but we are worried about the fact that Sony hasn’t yet stated if this device will make its way to the US or not. We guess that we’ll find out that in a few days, as our source also suggests. As for its price, as long as it has similar specs to the Z1, we can also anticipate that won’t be very different either, probably between £400 and £450.
