Xiaomi Redmi Note Announced in China for a Price Starting at $130
Xiaomi has just announced its Redmi Note as a tablet/smartphone hybrid that has an attractive price starting at no more than $130. Moreover, we can also tell you that this Xiaomi Redmi Note will become available on March 26 in China, but sadly, there is no word on any release date for other countries at this point. We will inform you in case of having any new details on this topic and until then, let’s find out more about this device and what it has to offer to its potential buyers from China:
Xiaomi Redmi Note: Decent Display, Two Sets of Internal Specs
The 5.5-inches Xiaomi Redmi Note has a 1,280×720-pixel resolution IPS display and comes with two sets of internal specs. The first version packs a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor model with a Mali 450 GPU and 1GB of RAM, while the other one model is much better having the same CPU and GPU, but a faster 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 CPU and no less than 2GB of RAM.
It is true that this Xiaomi Redmi Note hybrid device includes only a number of 8GB of internal memory, but the fact that it also has a microSD card slot that’s expandable up to 32GB changes the way that we are seeing things, so we don’t consider this aspect as being a problem. Moreover, this device comes with both a 5-megapixels camera and a 13-megapixel rear one that it is said to be an ideal choice even in low-light conditions, thanks to its f/2.2 aperture. And don’t forget that it even has dual-SIM slots, the Redmi Note phablet being presented as perfectly able to support both HSPA and GSM/EDGE SIM cards.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note device doesn’t include a stylus and although it has been announced as coming in a variety of colors, we can tell you that red isn’t one of them.
Pricing Options
As for the price, we have already told you that the 1.4 GHz variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note will become available for no more than CNY799 (about $130), but the improved 1.7 GHz Redmi Note option is going to be slightly more expensive at CNY 999 (about $160). That’s still a great deal for what this tablet/smartphone hybrid has to offer, but it’s only up to you to decide if you’ll become the owner of any of these versions or not.
