Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware Update Ready for LG Optimus G Pro
Do you remember when LG India has answered a question on Twitter about its Optimus G Pro plans for a possible KitKat update? The company has declared that the update was in the works (that has happebed in February), but it moved faster that we have imagined. So, now we can tell you that LG has just begun rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update for its LG Optimus G Pro, but there is more than you have to know about it:
Android 4.4 KitKat in LG’s Homeland
Sadly, the first market prepared for the big change is only South Korea, LG’s homeland, but there’s still hope. We can tell you for sure that if LG is ready to offer the KitKat update to its Korean Optimus G Pro units, this could mean only one thing: the international rollout cannot be that far away either. And don’t forget that the company has already updated the LG G2 device, so this is the next logical step: to see an Optimus G Pro ready for these KitKat changes as well.
SKT and LG U+ Korean telecoms and KitKat
So, let’s come back to the actual KitKat update which is available on two Korean telecoms – SKT and LG U+, so we are only talking about Optimus G Pro F240S and F240L versions. The new KitKat firmware is available over the air and it will make you feel like having a new Optimus G Pro hansdet which is much faster and more reliable, also having improved messaging capabilities with the new Hangouts app, a better RAM management and a new color scheme for the notification bar and some UI elements that you are robably currently using.
As for those who have their Optimus G Pro device from KTF, they will also receive the Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of this month.
