Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Specs and Features Leaked
After the big release of the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Korean manufacturer is gearing up to release a new successor of the Galaxy S4 Mini. Moreover, in what concerns the latest rumors appeared on the Android community, it appears that the S5 Mini’s specs are quite attractive and interesting.
First of all, the Galaxy S5 Mini is said to come with a 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display or 4.5 inches. This is quite an improvement if think about the 4.3-inch 540 x 960 display of the S4 Mini. It is an actual upgrade that gives the S5 Mini a solid step up against the Moto G and the Xperia Z1 Compact.
The mentioned ALOMED screen is powered by a quad-core processor made by the already known Qualcomm. However, the model is not yet confirmed, but we expect to see a Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.5 GHz such the one powering the HTC Desire 815. On the other hand, since we are dealing with a smaller Samsung handset, we can easily expect a 1.2 GHz processor also found within the Moto G or Desire 610.
In the same time, there appears to be a 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, again expandable with a MicroSD. As you probably know, this is an upgrade compared to the 8 GB of internal storage found within the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
Other sources reported the fact that the Galaxy S5 Mini might have an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. In the same time, the mini device is expected to feature an IR blaster, and a 2,100-mAh battery. With this in mind, do not expect other advanced features such as a fingerprint scanner or the rear-mounted pulse sensor.
As far as the operating system in concerned, the most probably is the Samsung’s next flagship for the Mini series will run Android 4.4 KitKat, along with some particular Samsung additions on top.
Concerning the price, S5 Mini will be decidedly mid-range and the price must be quite impressive. When I say impressive, I mean affordable, since the last year’s release, and namely the Samsung Mini S4 was quite overpriced for what it had to offer, which caused some debated among potential buyers as well as among critics.
At this point, with a strong competition from the Moto G and the Xperia Z1, we might expect a lower price for the fifth handset of the Samsung Mini. As for availability, previous rumors anticipated a Galaxy S5 Mini release in June.
