Harman Kardon HTC One (M8) Edition on its way to Sprint
We have just discovered that a Harman Kardon HTC One (M8) Edition is on its way to Sprint, so we must admit that we are more than surprised. After years and years of seeing HTC devices only powered by beats audio, it seems that the company is ready for a change in the audio department. For those of you who don’t know, harman/kardon is specialized in high end audio equipment from Home Entertainment systems and speakers or headphones to in-car audio and more.

This news regarding a new Harman Kardon HTC One (M8) Edition comes from @evleaks, but the only details are that this model will be coming to Sprint. We have no additional details regarding the price or availability of this version, but if we take in consideration the fact that the official launch of the HTC One M8 is scheduled for next few days, we can only imagine that the new edition will be released around the same time. As for the other specs, we have all the reasons to believe that they are unchanged:

The device comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, getting its power from a quad-core Snapdragon 801 system chip paired with 2GB RAM. As you probably know, this is the same chip that powers other popular smartphones such as like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z2, so you can imagine that this HTC model can handle even the most demanding games with no problem. When it comes to its Duo camera, we want to tell you that the actual process of taking a photograph is unchanged – you see a single image through the viewfinder and you tap on a button for capturing a certain image, but only after that the differences become visible. To be more precise, once you open a captured image, you can apply “Duo effects” to your picture, not to mention the faster focusing and the improved depth of field effect.
In terms of OS, the new HTC One M8 comes with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat on board, as well as with a new Sense user interface on top of it. This new Sense carries the 6.x version, but it is not a huge change over the current one. One of its new features is the added support for ‘Motion Launch gestures’ like double-tap to wake the phone’s display, not to mention that BlinkFeed has been also improved, but the overall visuals have not drastically changed.
So, returning to this Harman Kardon HTC One (M8) Edition, we don’t know if HTC is simply testing the public for further plans or just wants to capture our attention once again (as it has happened with the Glacial Silver and Amber Gold versions), but one thing is for sure: harman/kardon is usually known for amazing sound quality, so we can only hope for the best.
