Motorola Droid Ultra leaked image confirms design
Today is the big day of the announcement of a bunch of new Motorola devices. Just yesterday, a leaked photo of the Droid Ultra showed the smartphone in the wild. We’ve seen the device before in press images, but this is its first raw showing. While a photo last week suggested a black cover with red stripe in the middle, the new photo confirms that this is the design for the limited edition Droid Ultra. We’ll probably know more tonight or tomorrow at the latest. Until then, we can just presume on the specs, price and stuff like that.
We do, however, have a clue about the release date. According to our source, the new DROID lineup of smartphones will be available to pre-order right away, and will start shipping August 8th. The device is said to run a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and have a 5 inch full HD 1080p display. As for the operating system, it might be the latest Android Jelly Bean (probably 4.3?). However, none of the specs or features have been confirmed until now, although we’re seeing the device everywhere.
Specs wise, the Droid Ultra will pack 2GB of RAM and a 10MP camera with improved white balance and exposure and increased capture time sensor. It will probably support LTE and 3G connectivity and it will be available in black, red and white color schemes, although we’ve heard that the white version is for Verizon only. The Droid Mini, Droid Maxx or Ultra Maxx will probably be released today, also. So hoping it won’t take long until conclusions of the event will appear, we’re leaving you to imagine what you’d like the upcoming device to be like and promise we’ll be back with more info, as soon as we know something.
