France LG G2 getting Android 4.4 KitKat OTA Update in December
Android 4.4 KitKat has been officially presented and detailed and while the third party devs had already developed and offered custom ROMs based on the stock firmware, the official OTA releases are also being prepared by the major retails out there.
Also, since Samsung, Sony and HTC announced when the first OTA will be released for its flagship phones, the Galaxy S4, HTC One and Xperia Z, LG had decided to do the same. Well, is quite inappropriate to say that LG revealed the Android 4.4 KitKat OTA release for its LG G2 smartphones as the mentioned info has been made available by a France retail – SFR if you were asking.
Now, LG hasn’t announced anything nor confirmed the leaked info, though if we are to take a look on the image from below we can see that SFR will be rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the LG G2 starting from December this year. Unfortunately there isn’t any precise date offered, but more details about the same will be revealed during the following weeks.
As you know, Android 4.4 has been introduced by Google along with the new Nexus handset, the already highly rumored and also expected LG Google Nexus 5. The new Android OS is coming with some great features and with a great UI, though the pure KitKat experience will be available only for the Nexus devices. By the way, have you heard? The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will no longer receive OTA update so no Android 4.4 flavor for the Nexus users.
Anyway, don’t worry as suitable custom ROMs will be made available – you can already flash custom updates, though for now the systems are still buggy. As for the LG G2, as I have already mentioned, the smartphone will receive the update in December this year; at least if we are to believe the France retail SFR.
